Unique Date Ideas for Summer to Make Your Date Unforgettable

Wanting to spend a romantic night with your other half? I always scramble for new date ideas and not just fall into summer date ideas we’ve done time and time again! So, I’ve created this helpful summer night date ideas list to help with giving some ideas to make your date unforgettable and to do something hopefully new, fun, and engaging! Scheduling your summer date ideas

If you often read my blog you know I love to schedule and plan, I basically can’t do anything off the cuff. But I will say that date nights, especially when life gets busy, can be so helpful with it actually happening. It’s easy to say one day you will plan a cute outdoor date or plan a cute date, but before you know it months can pass. Sound familiar? Well, I’ve been there. So, I’ve found taking the time to sit down and plan out your date night days and as well date ideas can be so helpful and hold you accountable to spend that time with your loved one!

If you’re new to scheduling, I’d recommend trying for 1 a month. Pick one day for each of the summer months and assign that as your date night. After that write from your date night ideas or day date idea so you know what you’re doing. If you want to be more spontaneous or surprised you can assign someone to plan it as a surprise for the other!

Bicycle around town

Do you have a bicycle in your possession? If not, most cities have somewhere you can rent them for a day! Put on your closed-toed shoes, strap on that helmet, and get back to simpler times with a nice bike ride. You can map out your route ahead of time, or you can just travel around and explore. Either way, you’ll enjoy your time together and hopefully have some fun exploring or going around to new places.

This is a great way to see your local town, or to drive to a new location and rent bikes to explore! Either way, riding a bike is fun so get out there and enjoy a good bike ride with your other half!

Rent a Van and Road Trip!

Feeling adventurous? You can rent a sleeper van and do some country driving, explore a new place, or just go on a road trip. Now, I wouldn’t recommend this at all as a first date idea, but this makes for a cute romantic date idea for a couple whose been together a while and want to do some traveling. This is such a fun date idea as it allows it to be so customized. For example, how long you’ll travel, what type of van and amenities you rent, and picking a location for your trip! Spending time together on the road is a fun way to get to know your other half even better. You can even play some fun road games such as 20 questions.

Ice Cream Date

Looking for fun things for a couple to do? A simple ice cream date where you get to splurge on fancy and eccentric flavors can be so much fun. Those ice cream cones with three beautiful scoops on top, that’s what I’m talking about! So head out and get some delicious ice cream with your partner and explore and walk around a local park, waterfront, or downtown shopping center. I love to plan these dates for the hot parts of summer like late July as then it’s so refreshing! If you’re unable to eat ice cream (like my better half) you can do some sorbet or a dairy-free alternative!

Dinner Date out as Unique Date Ideas

If you’re a frequent reader of my blog you’ll also see this in my cute winter date ideas blog post but this one is great year-round! Unlike in the winter, in the summer you can take advantage of patios and outdoor dining! You can eat a meal at a local winery, a street patio dining option, a roof terrace or food truck, and outdoor food vendors! This is one of my favourite simple unique date ideas as you’ll be getting a unique summer experience with delicious food! Want some cute first-date conversation ideas? Check out these:

Go Hiking!

Are you an outdoors type? No? Well, that’s okay this is still a super cute date idea! Going on a hike is not only physically invigorating, but it is also a great date idea for couples! This allows you one on one time with your partner and you two can explore a new place. With this date idea, you can make it short for an hour or two, or you can make it a full-day date! When it comes to fun things to do as a couple don’t pass up the simple things like a local hike. Or taking a trip out of town and exploring some new hiking trails. Make sure to put on proper attire for the terrain of your hike date!

A summer fair or carnival for unique date ideas!

When it comes to unique date ideas a summer carnival or fair is a great way to plan a super easy date! Even if you have an annual fair or carnival that comes to town it’s safe to say each year what’s there is unique! This makes it such a fun date idea for couples and is truly one of my favourites for romantic date ideas! You can spend the day playing games, eating way too much-fried food, and exploring some live shows and events! You can even make this a double date as a fantastic way to spend time together and wither friends too! These simple first date ideas are for those couples looking for a chill and simple first date together!

Sports!

Feeling a little competitive? Or just love to spend time doing physically active activities? Consider a date when you can play a sport together or against each other. You can rent out a space at a local community center, or join an already-planned activity! Some examples can include couples activities of sports are tennis, squash, cornhole, bocce ball, disc golf, bowling, shuffleboard, golf, and ultimate frisbee. These are all super fun things to do with your partner and can be a great date activity! Be sure to dress appropriately for the sport and bring lots of water and sun protection!

Berry Picking/ Local Farms

Do you love fresh fruit as much as I do? Well if you do making a date together to go to a local farm or berry field can be such a cute date idea! One of my personal favourite fun date ideas is always going and picking my own fruit in the summer, exploring a new local farm, or wandering around sunflower or lavender fields! This could be something new you two do together or could be the perfect date that you build in as an annual occurrence! While you are there why not snap some new images for the gram or for some of your personal use such as in your home?
