Summer is here…and with it comes the desire to be outdoors and spend less time inside, insert unique blog ideas slowing down. It’s natural in the summer we want to get outside, and enjoy the time in the sun and the idea of being tethered to your laptop writing content might not be as appealing as the dead of winter. That’s why I’m here today to share some awesome new blog post ideas to help you create summer blog posts! Aka – let’s create something new and get you out of that funk!
What are the specifics of a good blog post?
Are you new to creating blogs or in general writing blog posts? No worries, here are a couple of quick tips to help you along! First, ensure you write a post that is over 300 words. Google does not see webpages that are less than 300 words as blog posts, ideally, I like to aim for 800+ words to really get some juicy content on each page! Secondly, compress your images! If you’re including images in your blog post, be sure to use Canva or another website to compress the images, regular (uncompressed images) in your blog post can really slow down your page loading speed! Lastly, write about a topic that connects to your ideal audience, and give them value and helpful content! It’s helpful to include tips or a list to help folks with ideas or solutions to their problems!

The social media summer slump
You want to be outside in the summer enjoying the beautiful weather and possibly vacation time right? Well so does everyone else! It’s not uncommon on social media, or your website to see less traffic and less engagement. However, it’s important to keep consistent with your blog topic ideas and writing to keep putting out blog posts!
One thing I’ve learned over the past 2+ years of blogging is that a consistent schedule will help your blog do amazing, versus only posting when it’s a high or low traffic time. Now you’re likely to think about what to write about in a blog during that slump. Keep up with your niche and content ideas! This could also be a good time to go back to old posts and SEO them!
How to create unique blog post ideas on repeat?
Okay, so you want to start having a bank of amazing blog topics that you can pull from as needed? That’s the dream and honestly, it’s how I write blog posts for my two blogs. For myself, I find that there are certain times of the day, week, or month when I’m just flowing with incredible blog niche ideas for both my blogs and others where I can’t think of a single idea.
I started a blog topics list. This is a list I keep in the front of my planner I record any and all, ideas as they pop into my head. For example, earlier this week I had about 6 blog writing topics pop into my head, and I jotted them all done instantly. Now, at the end of the week when my brain is tired and lacks creativity, I can easily pull from this list of amazing ideas for blogs! So, keep a digital, or physical bank where you can keep helpful blog topics to help you with having a bank for when you’re not feeling creative or have no idea what to write about.

Marketing Summer Content!
As mentioned above, you’ll likely see a summer dip. Don’t, I repeat, don’t stop marketing! If you use Pinterest for example, keep going! If you’re someone who shares on social media – keep going, you never know who is going to be reading your content. You could be warming an audience you don’t even know who helps you sell out your products or a brand that connects about working together. Don’t stop, keep going.
